Translational Urology Research

Our group's interests lie at the interface of molecular biology, engineering, and clinical medicine. Our long-term research goal is highly translational: to develop and validate minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic tools with particular emphasis on infectious diseases and cancer of the urinary tract. We collaborate extensively with investigators from engineering, infectious diseases, cancer biology, and bioinformatics. We recently demonstrated first successful clinical validation of an electrochemical biosensor array for point-of-care, molecular detection of urinary pathogens. We are part of the Stanford Department of Urology and an affiliated member of the Bio-X interdisciplinary program at Stanford.
